“We got married in July 2025 at The Barn at Harburn, a DIY wedding venue in the West Calder countryside. We planned and created as much of the day as possible ourselves, from illustrating the invites, menus, order of service and crafting all the decor, to growing our plant favours, thrifting objects, roping in talented friends and family, and even having loved ones make the cake, cook the food and arrange the flowers.
What you don’t always factor into a DIY wedding is the small detail that you can’t actually run the day yourself… because you’re busy getting married (shock). That’s where Aaron and Team Bravo came in.
From the start, they happily listened as we emptied our brains of every tiny detail of how we wanted the day to look, feel and flow, then completely took it on and ran with it. They understood our vision completely and delivered it seamlessly, running the bar and front-of-house service with total confidence and care.
Both coming from hospitality backgrounds ourselves, great service and the tone set by the staff was always really important to us. The team from bravo bars & events struck the perfect balance: professional, organised and calm, but also genuinely fun, warm and happy to be there, exactly what we were after.
